Check out this absolutely awesome YouTube video from The Centre of the Developing Child at Harvard University!!
We at West Coast Men’s Support Society believe that it is often the simplest most basic concepts that lead to the most powerful outcomes. For instance, when it comes to the raising of a child, both parents need to be involved in nurturing them – providing them with a safe and healthy environment to grow up in. It’s that simple! That parents recognize how important it is to provide the child with healthy food, water and warm clothing to protect them from the elements. It’s that simple! That by parents staying together, learning how to better communicate through programs like our Respect & Compassion workshop, it brings happiness and health into the home. It’s that simple!
West Coast Men offers a number of programs to empower boys & men to take better care of themselves both emotionally and physically.
An awesome call to action for men to take responsibility around gender violence!
The West Coast Men’s Support Society’s mission is to help men, families and community to live fuller, healthier lives. In order for this to happen, men need to step up and recognize that they are fallible. That men do need help and that its OK to ask. We say NO WAY to “Rape Culture”! These words do not belong in the same sentence! Rape has no place in society!
Your words and thoughts have physical power – Will Smith
This is an absolutely perfect video for the West Coast Men’s Support Society because we are all about taking back your power – being empowered. We are all about people taking care of themselves first so that they are then able to take care of those around them. We are all about focusing on your potential rather than what’s not working. We are all about taking responsibility for your life, your family and your community. We believe in holding ourselves accountable – what we say we are going to do – we do. We believe in living a life of integrity – standing up for what we believe in – taking action. We believe in forgiveness. We believe in the power of compassion to heal our world – all that needs to happen is the loss of control and power – that we are all equal no matter our socioeconomic status, our race, creed, colour, etc. We are all perfectly imperfect human beings.
